Teaching aims:

Knowledge aim:

Students can grasp the pronunciation of /i:/ in different words.

Ability aim:

Students will develop their listening abilities by distinguish the pronunciation in different words, and improve their speaking skills by group work.

Students can attach greater importance in correct pronunciation.

Teaching procedures:

Step 1: Warming-up

1. Greet with students.

2. Let students enjoy a song named Reality and ask them to sing together.

Dreams are my reality.

The only kind of real fantasy.

Illusions are a common thing.

I try to live in dreams.

It seems as it’s meant to be

Ask students to answer the question: Can you find the vowel pronunciation repeated several times? And lead in the topic: pronunciation. Write down the words with similar vowel pronunciation on the blackboard: Dreams, real, seems, be.

Step 2: Presentation

1. Discovering

Invite a new friend to students: a little sheep on the screen. And tell my students a story combined by four sentences: She is a green sheep, her name is Lee, she walks in the evening, then she sleeps and dreams. And invite one of students circle the words contain the same pronunciation with the words on the blackboard. The words are: green, sheep, Lee, evening, dream. Lead them find the vowel pronunciation /i:/.

2. Acquiring

Lead students read for several times, and let them find the pronunciation usually appears in letter group “ee” and “ea”.

Step 3: Practice

1. Game: Find their home

Present some words on the blackboard, draw two houses on the blackboard, one for /i:/ and the other for /i/. Ask one of students to send the words into houses accordingly.

2. Make sentences

Students should make some sentences using the word contained vowel pronunciation /i:/.

Step 4: Production

Let students work in group of four in 5 minutes, and do the association. They should find more words contain /i:/ to make up a story and share on stage.

Step 5: Summary and Homework

Summary: invite a student to be a little teacher and summarize today’s lesson.

Homework: ask students to make a story contain the vowel pronunciation /i:/.

(1) First of all, I want to be a teacher is because that I have been dreamed of being a teacher since I was a child. My grandfather was a Chinese teacher, I learned a lot from from him. He always tell me, one should be responsible for being a teacher. We should put our students as our own children to love and take care.

(2) Secondly, I have eligible knowledge to be a competent teacher. In my university, I learned translation as my major, and I read some professional books. during two years of my work experience, I got to know that how to get along with my students and how to tackle problems that happened suddenly.

(3) To be a teacher is one of my long-lasted dream, I sincerely hope you can give me this chance to let me devote my enthusiasm and love to educational career. I will try my best to make your choice deserve.

In my opinion, an excellent teacher should have the spirit of dedication, not only time, but also heart. Teachers should devote their hearts to the career of education and students. Besides, they should set a good example for children. I possess all these spirits.

I also have unique teaching skills, I will set diverse games and activities for students to learn English happily, set a warm atmosphere in every lesson.

在我看来，一位优秀的老师必须具有奉献精神，不只是奉献时间，更要奉献真心。教师应该要把真心奉献给教育事业和学生。此外，还需要为学生树立优秀的榜样，这些精神我都具有。
